Project Partners:  Artful Life, Community Members of the International District, PNM, Bosque School, UNM Cinematic Arts Program, Trumbull Village Neighborhood Association, Warehouse 508 with additional financial and in-kind support from CABQ, AmFab Steel, Inc. and McDonald's (Garcia Family).

​Residents of the International District were invited to submit photos, paintings, collages and drawings in response to the topic: "What does diversity look like?"

 

Entries inspired the design for the mural. Lead artist Rene Palomares led a collective design process and the mural was painted Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 17-19, 2017.

The painting of the mural also had a community participation element.  White circles in the design were filled in by community members in whatever way they wish.  A public celebration celebrated the mural and project on March 19, 2017.​
